Greetings all,
As we welcome the spring season, Tri-County Independent Living and the Disability Disaster Access and Resources program would like to remind everyone that with all of the spring flowers coming to bloom the rainy season may continue and the potential for flooding remains. Now would be a good time to review your emergency plans and update any items in your go bags if necessary. It is our goal to help prepare the community to be safe during times of potential extreme weather and emergencies.
With that in mind we are happy to announce that the TCIL’s Emergency Preparedness workshops are now in full swing and are being well attended. We hosted our first workshop in February and will continue monthly throughout 2025.
The workshops focus on teaching the importance of emergency planning including the creation and implementation of an Emergency Action Plan. We also explore the benefits of an emergency “Go Bag” and how to prepare for emergencies. Each participant receives a starter “Go Bag” backpack with various supplies.
The workshops are open to the community and individuals interested in learning about how to become prepared in their own homes.
Registration information can be found on the flyer posted to our website and social media accounts. We look forward to seeing you there.
We wish you all a safe and happy spring season.
