Serving Humboldt, Del Norte, & Trinity Counties

Executive Director Message, Spring, 2025

Like the shifting tides and unpredictable storms, change is inevitable. But when things change, we don’t stand still—we adjust, innovate, and find new ways to serve our community.

At our core, we remain committed to empowering individuals through independent living skills training, information and referral, peer support, systems and individual advocacy, youth transitions, assistive technology, personal assistant services, and transition/diversion programs—all designed to help people live independently in their own homes.

Alongside these essential services, our emergency preparedness efforts and Aging and Disability Resource Connection provide a strong foundation for our community’s resilience.

This mission is not just important—it’s honorable. No matter the challenges ahead, we move forward with excitement and determination. We are deeply grateful to our board members, volunteers, and dedicated staff who make this work possible. Together, we create a community where people with disabilities can thrive with independence and dignity.
