Sequoia Commins, our Independent Living Skills Specialist from Tri County Independent Living, attended an in person meeting in Missoula, Montana to continue evolving and polishing a rural outreach training manual for other Centers for Independent Living.
In partnership with Rural Community Living Development (RCLD), based out of the Rural Institute at University of Montana, Sequoia has been collaborating with leading figures from other Independent Living Centers across the country to make an easy and accessible guide for other outreach specialists to better interact with their rural communities for the past year and a half.
While working with these other Independent Living Centers, Sequoia has both gained and provided peer support, wisdom, and guidance to change makers in their own regional areas.
RTC:Rural and Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living were excited to finally meet partners from CILs across the country in person!
